Quick setup — 7 essential actions

   Visit ledger.com/start

   Type the URL directly or use a verified link. Download Ledger Live only from the official site to avoid fake installers.

   Connect your Ledger device

   Use the supplied USB cable. On phones use the official OTG cable or Ledger-approved adapter when required.

   Initialize: PIN & recovery

   Choose a 4–8 digit PIN on the device. The device will generate a 24-word recovery phrase; write it down in order and keep it offline.

   Install apps in Ledger Live

   Open Ledger Live, add your device, and use the Manager to install blockchain apps (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.).

   Add accounts & sync

   Create accounts for the blockchains you use. Ledger Live will sync balances while private keys remain on your device.

   Verify addresses on-device

   Always confirm receive addresses on the device screen before sharing them — this prevents address-replacement attacks.

   Keep software updated

   Regularly update Ledger Live and your device firmware via the official Manager to get security fixes and new features.
